High School Placement
Exmissions & Application Advisory
Because we have seen each child grow up, we are in an excellent position to help guide families through the secondary school selection and application process. Having hit their academic and extracurricular stride, our students begin this process with a strong sense of themselves, their strengths, and their goals.
While Green Vale has been known since its founding as a "feeder school" for top boarding schools, today's students choose top boarding schools, local private day schools, New York City private schools, parochial schools, and public schools.
Beginning in the spring of 7th Grade , a team led by the Head of School launches this exciting journey with meetings where parents communicate hopes and goals for their child's high school experience, as well as concerns and questions. For some families, it's a simple task of enrolling in their local public school, often taking New York Regents exams for advanced placement, administered by Green Vale. Others consider a broader range of options with more extensive application requirements. The GVS team's familiarity with specific schools and programs assists families in identifying target schools.
Regardless, Green Vale offers thorough assistance with application, interview, and testing strategies. Deep relationships with top schools allow for extensive dialogue and advocacy with admissions teams.
Secondary schools know Green Vale graduates will be academically prepared, well adjusted, active participants in school life.
